Wednesday Evening Sangha Nights

Apart from the first Wednesday in each month, we meet weekly in person for our Wednesday Sangha Nights for meditation practice, Buddhist teaching, ritual and discussion at our three venues:

Eastbourne

Hastings

Tunbridge Wells

On the first Wednesday in each month we meet together on Zoom.

Our meetings usually start at 7.00pm and finish around 9.00pm. If you are a newcomer, please arrive 10 minutes early so that we can introduce ourselves. We will usually have a period of meditation, a talk and time for discussion and questions and time to chat and build friendships over a cup of tea.

Our weekly email newsletter gives full details and last minute changes of our Sangha evenings and contains the Zoom link for our online meetings.  If you would like to join us, please click below to join our mailing list to receive our weekly updates. Everyone over 18 is welcome to join us whether you are a complete newcomer or experienced practitioner.  You don't have to consider yourself a Buddhist  to join our weekly meetings.

Monthly Women's Group

We host a Women's group for Friends and Mitras who meet once a month on the second Friday of the month.

This is a time to get to know each other, to share, to deepen connections and friendship. As well as chat the meetings often include meditation, Dharma input, discussion and ritual.

We will send out the Zoom link for both of this group to everyone on our mailing list.

Next Sangha Retreat - 2 to 4 October 2026

Front door.jpg

Save the date - our next sangha retreat will be from 2 to 4 October 2026 at Rivendell Retreat Centre.

Bookings will open in the summer and will be announced in the weekly newsletter.

Our annual retreats are a chance for our sangha to come together in a deeper way. Over the weekend, we’ll share meditation, reflection, poetry, and simple, heartfelt connection.

Led by the local Order Team, we’ll explore the joy that comes from spiritual friendship, the power of rejoicing in one another, and the gratitude that naturally arises when we meet each other with honesty, kindness and presence.

The small print

  • This retreat is open to regular members of the Triratna South East Buddhist Group (i.e. from the Hastings, Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells sanghas). It is not suitable for beginners or anyone under the age of 18. If you are uncertain if this retreat is for you, contact Satyamati (satyamati@outlook.com) or Vidyaketu (vidyaketu@hotmail.com).

  • If you are new to meditation or to Triratna we suggest you take a look at the retreats offered by Rivendell Retreat Centre.

  • The retreat price includes all your food, accommodation and teaching for the weekend. However, we don't want lack of money to prevent anyone coming on retreat and we can offer a full bursary for those on very low income. If you'd like to discuss this with the team, contact Satyamati (satyamati@outlook.com) or Vidyaketu (vidyaketu@hotmail.com).

  • Please be aware that most people will be in (single sex) shared rooms.
