Triratna South East Buddhist Group is part of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Community.
Led by Order Members Vidyaketu, Vidyakaya, Nagarakshita, Shuddhadhara, Sraddhamayi and Satyamati, we meet once a week on Wednesday evenings to meditate together and discuss the Buddha's teaching as presented by Urgyen Sangharakshita, who was our teacher and the founder of our movement.
We have a strong emphasis on Sangha and friendship and making Dharma practice a part of our everyday lives. Anyone interested in finding out more about meditation, Buddhism and the Triratna Buddhist Community is welcome to join us.
Our Regular Sangha Meetings
Our regular Wednesday Night Sangha evenings are now mainly in person at our 3 venues in Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Eastbourne. However, on the first Wednesday of each month we all meet online using Zoom. Our regular meetings feature meditation, talks, discussion and ritual.
Additionally we also run regular monthly Men's Group and Women's Group meetings.
From time to time we have Sangha days where all our three groups have the opportunity to practice together in person
Our meetings are open to everyone over 18 regardless of experience you don't even have to consider yourself a Buddhist to come along and join us.

Meditation

There are many things in life that are beyond our control. However, it is possible to take responsibility for our own states of mind – and to change them for the better. According to Buddhism this is the most important thing we can do, and Buddhism teaches that we can achive this through meditation. It is the only real antidote to our own personal sorrows, and to the anxieties, fears, hatreds, and general confusions that beset the human condition.
