Buddhist meditation in Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Eastbourne

Meditation Eastbourne

Triratna South East Buddhist Group is part of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Community.

Led by a team of Order Members we meet for meditation and to discuss the Buddha's teaching and Buddhism as presented by Urgyen Sangharakshita, who was our teacher and the founder of the Triratna movement and Buddhist community.

We have a strong emphasis on Sangha and friendship and making Dharma practice a part of our everyday lives.

Anyone interested in finding out more about Buddhist meditation, Buddhism and the Triratna Buddhist Community in the Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Eastbourne and surrounding areas is welcome to join us.

Our Regular Sangha Meetings

Our meetings are usually held in person or on zoom at our 3 venues in Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Eastbourne

A Sangha meeting will feature Buddhist meditation, talks, discussion and ritual as well as chance to catch up with each other and make friends over a cup of tea.

Additionally we also run regular monthly Women's Group meetings.

From time to time we have Sangha days and Sangha Weekend Retreats where all our three groups have the opportunity to practice together in person for longer periods and go deeper.

Our meetings are open to everyone over 18 regardless of experience you don't even have to consider yourself a Buddhist to come along and join us.

Meditation

There are many things in life that are beyond our control. However, it is possible to take responsibility for our own states of mind through the practice of meditation – and to change them for the better. According to Buddhism this is the most important thing we can do, and Buddhism teaches that we can achieve this through meditation.  It is the only real antidote to our own personal sorrows, and to the anxieties, fears, hatreds, and general confusions that beset the human condition.
